Refunds
Golden Nerves refund policy, step by step
Phone the Golden Nerves order desk with your order ID before you post anything. Put your full name, email and order ID in the box with the bottles and send it to 477 Madison Avenue, Floor 6, New York, NY 10022, USA using a tracked service. The buyer pays return shipping, and the seller asks you to use tracking. The refund posts 3 to 5 business days after the desk credits the order, then a further 5 to 10 days for the card to post it.

The process
Six steps, in the order they have to happen
This page is procedural on purpose. The terms of the promise are on the guarantee page; this is the part you follow with a phone in one hand.
Call the order desk before you post anything
The order desk, listed in the site footer. Have the order ID in front of you. The desk is the only party that can locate the order, tell you what it expects back and start the refund. A parcel that turns up unannounced is a parcel nobody is waiting for.
Ask the two questions the published policy does not answer
What counts as the first day of my 60-day window, and how is a partly used pack handled? Neither is published. Ask them on the call and write down what you are told.
Put three things in the box, in writing
Your full name, the email address the order was placed under, and the order ID. A parcel of bottles with no paperwork is a parcel that cannot be matched to a payment.
Pack the bottles so the glass survives the trip back
Wrap each bottle, fill the voids and tape the box properly. A bottle that breaks in the return post is a dispute rather than a refund.
Post it to the returns address with a tracked service
477 Madison Avenue, Floor 6, New York, NY 10022, USA. The buyer pays return shipping, and the seller asks you to use tracking. Keep the tracking number and the receipt. They are the only proof you will have if the parcel goes missing.
Wait out both clocks, then check the statement
The refund posts 3 to 5 business days after the desk credits the order, then a further 5 to 10 days for the card to post it. The first period belongs to the seller and the second belongs to your bank, and they run one after the other rather than at the same time.
Step two exists because neither the start date of the window nor the treatment of a partly used pack has been published, and the desk is the only place those answers live.
The parcel
What goes in the box, and what does not need to
A return is matched to a payment by the details you put in with the bottles. Get those three lines right and the rest of the parcel is packaging.
| Item | Required | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your full name | Yes | As it appears on the order |
| The email address used to order | Yes | This is how the order is matched |
| The order ID | Yes | From the order confirmation email |
| The bottles | Yes | Whether opened bottles are treated differently from unopened ones is not published. Settle it on the call before you post anything. |
| A note saying why | Optional | Nothing published requires a reason and the desk does not need one to process the refund |
| The original outer carton | Not required | Nothing published asks for it, though it does no harm |
| A tracking number kept by you | Strongly advised | The seller asks for tracking and it is your only evidence of delivery |
The address matters as much as the contents. Returns go to 477 Madison Avenue, Floor 6, New York, NY 10022, USA, not to the office address, 175 Water Street, Floor 10, New York, NY 10038, USA. Confusing the two is the second commonest way a refund stalls.

Before you seal the box
Photograph what you are sending. A picture of the bottles, the note with your order ID on it and the address label takes ten seconds and answers every question that can be asked later.
Timing
Two clocks, running one after the other
The published refund timing is one sentence: 3 to 5 business days after the desk credits the order, then a further 5 to 10 days for the card to post it. It describes two separate waits belonging to two separate organisations.
The first is the seller’s. Once the desk credits the order, the refund is issued within 3 to 5 business days. Business days exclude weekends, so a credit applied on a Thursday can reasonably be issued the following Thursday without anything having gone wrong.
The second is your bank’s. A further 5 to 10 days for the card to post it is outside the seller’s control, and it is the period people most often mistake for a problem.
What is not published is everything before the first clock starts: how long the return takes to arrive, how long it waits to be checked, and therefore when the desk credits the order at all. That is not published, and it is why the tracked return matters. Tracking gives you the delivery date, the only fixed point between posting the parcel and the desk acting on it.
| Stage | What happens | How long | Who owns it |
|---|---|---|---|
| You call the desk | The order is located and the return is expected | The length of the call | You and the order desk |
| You post the parcel | A tracked return travels to 477 Madison Avenue, Floor 6, New York, NY 10022, USA | not published — it depends on the service you pay for | You |
| The parcel is received and checked | The desk confirms what arrived | not published | The seller |
| The desk credits the order | The refund is issued against the original payment | 3 to 5 business days from the moment it is credited | The seller |
| The card posts it | The money appears on your statement | A further 5 to 10 days | Your bank or card issuer |

If the money has not arrived
Ask the desk one specific question: on what date was the credit issued? With that date in hand your bank can trace it. Without it, neither party can do anything except wait.
Problems
What to do when the refund has not posted
Work through it in order rather than all at once. First, count business days from the date the desk credited the order, not from the date you posted the parcel. If fewer than five have passed, the refund has not been issued yet and there is nothing to chase.
Second, if the credit was issued more than ten days ago and nothing has appeared, phone the order desk and ask for the issue date and any reference the desk holds. That pair of facts is what a bank needs to trace a card refund.
Third, if the card you paid with has since been closed or replaced, say so on that call. A refund to a dead card is a longer process and the desk needs to know before it issues rather than after.
Throughout, keep to the phone. The website desk reaches the people who write these pages. It cannot see an order, a tracking number or a payment.
Honest limits
Three things this policy does not say
We would rather list the gaps than write around them.
When the window opens
The listing gives 60 days and does not say from what. This site assumes the order date because it is the earliest possible reading and therefore the safest to plan against. It is an assumption and we label it as one.
How a partly used pack is treated
Nothing published says whether a six-bottle pack with two bottles gone is refunded in full, in part, or at all. Ask the desk before you post, and note the answer with the date and the name of whoever gave it to you.
What happens to a damaged return
Nothing published covers a bottle that breaks on the way back, which is the practical reason to pack it properly and use a tracked service.
None of those three gaps is unusual for this category and none is a reason to distrust the promise. They are a reason to make the phone call first and write down what you are told.
Try Golden Nerves with 60 days to change your mind

Add to cart, $177 for 3 bottles
After you order: tracking and refunds go to the order desk listed in the site footer.
